Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Reminder: EARLY DISMISSAL FOR STUDENTS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4 Greetings to everyone. MAP TESTING is finished for most classes, so gym classes will resume as regularly scheduled. As always, please remember to wear full gym uniform on the day you have gym. Gym  schedules are posted on the bulletin board on the office floor, as well as on the blog. For any 6th graders who might be confused about when they have gym classes, classes are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Friday we will be having Mass for Saint Francis of Assisi, so classes will be rescheduled during the week. 5th Grade Social Studies Students recently took their first vocabulary quiz last week, and I am pleased to see so many of pass. Please make sure to review words and read passages assigned. The pace of the class will be moving much faster in the coming weeks, so it is imperative we READ, READ, READ. Students please remember to read pages 30-45 in your textbook. We will be going over lesson 3, 4, 5 this week. Stud

Reminder: Early Dismissal for all students MONDAY SEPT. 23 Students please be aware that MAP testing is still going on this week, and classes shall be scheduled  accordingly. Some gym classes will be rescheduled during the week. As always be remember to be in full gym uniform on the days you have gym. Gym schedules are posted on the blog, as well as the bulletin board in the lunchroom. This week in Social Studies, we will be having a test on Thursday on vocabulary words. Students should have about 26 words in their notebooks. The test shall consist of 15-20 of the words mix and match. We will also be continuing with Unit 1, The land and early people of the United States. As always if their are any further questions please refer to the planbook. Thank you!

Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone!  A few reminders for this week. Please remember that MAP testing will begin this week. Classes scheduled to have gym on testing days will probably be rescheduled. I will let students know day of when that shall happen. In any case, please be prepared as normal for gym class. Students have been reminded of when they have gym, Mr. Woods has posted gym schedules as well on the blog, so there is no reason why anyone should be confused about when they have gym class. Students please remember, participation, behavior, and how much your try is all part of your grade for class. 5th graders, I expect to have a full week of social studies classes. This week in class we will be covering our nation's Geography. Our big idea is how people interact with their environment and are affected by it. Vocabulary words will be given on Monday and should be defined in notebooks by the end of the week. For any more information please refer to the planbook. Thank You!

Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Welcome Back to everyone!! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is ready to get back to work. This will be the first full week of school, so lots of movements to get our bodies going. Everyone is expected to wear full gym uniform on the days you have Gym. Full gym uniform is the blue shirt with the school seal, the blue sweat pants with the school seal, and a pair of sneakers. Students should remember that it is not always best to wear your best sneakers or their skirts. As for 5th graders, Social Studies class begins Monday. We will be starting by learning about our country and how to use/read a map. Please remember to bring textbooks and workbooks with you to class. As always, look to the planbook for more information on what we will be doing this week. Thank you all and lets have a great start to the new year!!
