Homework March 30

HOMEWORK Lesson 2 Review Questions 1-4. 1. How did plantations affect life in the Southern Colonies? 2. Describe the role of a PLANTER and the role of a OVERSEER. 3. How did enslaved people keep their culture alive? 4. Why was the economy of the Southern Colonies dependent on large plantations when most of the colonists worked on small farms?

WEEKLY REMINDERS This is the last week before Easter break. I encourage students to do their best as we continue to work through remote learning. As always, students are reminded that homework will always be posted here and on google classroom after class is finished that day. Homework is always due by midnight throughout the week. Remember to be safe and vigilant as we fight Covid-19 together. Students in 5th grade, we shall continue to work through chapter 7 this week. As we finish the lessons, I will provide the class with content focus summaries for the lesson to have an extra resource to gather and understand information. I remind students to always reply to all posts or messages I send throughout the class as I use this information for participation grades. 5th Grade Social Studies

DAILY REMINDERS Students are reminded to always respond to posts throughout class time, so that I know students are active on google classroom. Students missing any classwork have been sent emails. Please turn in classwork for credit as soon as possible. HOMEWORK Homework is posted on google classroom. Students have to write a story about a day in the life on a southern plantation as if they were the slave. Please remember to include vocabulary words in your story. Stories should be at least two paragraphs long, and should include life from morning to night.

5th Grade Social Studies

DAILY REMINDERS Students please remember class opens at 11:30 am to 12:15 pm. At the start of class, if your name is not present on my "CLASS ATTENDANCE"post by 11:35 am, you are late or absent. As I said before, some students are answering posts and classwork meant to be done during class hours. Please refrain from doing so, it is important that we are logged in and attentive to the google classroom you scheduled to have. I have sent several students emails about work that has not been turned in. Please make sure you read your emails. HOMEWORK I have posted a Lesson 1 review sheet on google classroom. Please look it over, and keep it with your other notes. It will be useful when studying for the chapter test. Please continue reading lesson 2 if you have not done so. I have posted lesson 2 review questions up on google classroom as well. Please make sure you hand it in before midnight.

5th Grade Social Studies

DAILY REMINDERS Students are reminded that homework will be posted on the blog everyday after class. All homework is to be handed in on google classroom by 11:59 pm on the day it is assigned. Students are also reminded that anything posted on the classroom should not be opened until the start of class. I have found a number of students answering questions and doing assignments while they should be in another class paying close attention. I have gotten most students working with Discovery Education, if there is a problem please continue to contact me. A very important reminder that if you do not attend the class or present yourself late, it will affect your grade, please be aware. Tuesday March 24, 2020 HOMEWORK Vocabulary Words for chapter 7 should be done on a google doc and submitted on google classroom. Google classroom will have a video to watch as well. If you manage to get on discovery education, please work on the video and quiz.

5th Grade Social Studies

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!! Today is our first day of remote learning. Please remember to log in to google classroom at the time of our scheduled class. 5th Grade Social Studies schedule is as follows, Monday- Friday 11:30 through 12:15 pm. Remember, attendance will be taken at the start of class, so please remember to log in. Classwork shall be posted, and I will be active to answer all questions. We will have a class discussion on how things went on Friday with the chapter test, as well as things we can do to better manage the work remotely. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday. I will be online at this time giving work, answering questions, reviewing with students, and anything else they need to continue doing their work. At

Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

WEEKLY REMINDERS SCHOOL CLOSED FRIDAY MARCH 13 All gym classes are on schedule this week. Please remember to wear full gym uniform. Full gym uniform consists of navy blue shirt with school emblem, navy blue sweatpants, and a pair of sneakers. You cannot participate in gym class if you do not have full attire. Students will begin to see a change in pace within gym class the next few weeks as we enter the second half of the quarter. I will be focusing on students attention recognition to detail as we progress through our workouts. 5th Grade Social Studies classes are all on schedule this week. Students should have all workbook pages finished for Monday. Monday we will be having our vocabulary quiz. Study, Study, Study! Students should remember quizzes will consists of no word bank, and definition match. Tuesday and Wednesday we will be reviewing the chapter in class. Thursday we will take our chapter test. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

WEEKLY REMINDERS SCHOOL CLOSED FRIDAY MARCH 6 Classes are on schedule this week. As a reminder please remember to wear FULL gym uniform!! It is imperative that we have sweat pants and sneakers on. Students will be working harder than ever during the month of march. I want to see kids push it as much as they can throughout our workouts. 5th Graders we are continuing to cover chapter 6, The Middle Colonies. Students should have read lesson 1, and 2 as well as the review questions done for Monday. We will be reviewing those questions in class tomorrow. Lessons 3 and 4  should be read and review questions answered by Wednesday. Thursday, March 5th we will have our Chapter 6 vocabulary quiz. As before, please remember students will see a different shift in vocabulary quizzes. Students will have to practice understanding vocabulary by using words within a sentence.
