3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of Sept 26, 2022

WEEKLY REMINDERS NWEA MAP Testing will continue this week. Students will be taking the Reading exam on Tuesday, and the Science exam on Thursday. Title 1 classes for 3rd grade are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Gym Classes are back to normal schedule this week. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will continue reading Chapter 1. Students will begin to analyze what makes states and regions unique. Students will be working on Hispanic Heritage Month projects. Homework assignments will be given on Monday. Please look towards Google Classroom for more information. 3RD- 8TH GRADE COMPUTER SCIENCE Students will continue working on sequencing algorithms using Code.org. Students will also begin using the Sphero Robots this week. Students will learn how to create their own Draw programs, including movement (direction and speed) and lights. 3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Gym Week of Sept 18, 2022

WEEKLY REMINDERS Parents please make sure to hand in all forms which were given to everyone last week. Title 1 extended day classes will begin this week. Students that have signed up will go straight to class on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Classes run from 3:15 to 5:00 pm. NWEA Map testing will begin this week. Grades 3 - 8 will take Language Arts on Tuesday and Science on Thursday. Both tests run from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin discussing chapter 1 from our textbooks this week. Students will be discussing the importance of geography and how it affected where and how people lived. Students are reminded that although homework will only be given on Mondays, they should stay proactive with the lessons as we will be working on much of it in class. Students will also be discussing Hispanic Heritage this week, as well as building a foundation for our projects.   WEEKLY REMINDERS First full week of School! Parents please make sure all forms are returned to school by Friday, Sept 16. After School Program will begin on Monday, Sept 12. If you are looking to sign up, please find me Monday morning. Gym classes will be held on Fridays. Please make sure to have full Gym attire on Friday. Opening Mass Friday, Sept 16. Parents are welcomed! Mass at 10 AM. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin to cover 5th grade Social Studies. Students will use different resources relating to U.S. History to improve critical thinking skills, vocabulary comprehension, and other skills through Inquiry-Based Learning. Social studies homework will be given on Mondays only. All homework will be due Tuesdays. Students will begin to learn how to set-up their notebooks and homework for the year. Hispanic Heritage Month will begin this Thursday. Students will begin to discuss topics for our very first project. Please make sure to have all supplies with you on Monday. D
