4TH & 5TH Grade Social Studies Week of February 7, 2021

 


WEEKLY REMINDERS

February is Black History Month! In order to commemorate the month, we will be working on the histories of famous Black Icons who inspired so many.

Tuesday February 9, 2021 - National Pizza Day 
Students will be receiving a slice of Dominoes Pizza as we celebrate the day.

Thursday February 11, 2021 - Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
Teacher Conference Day SCHOOL CLOSED!

Friday February 12, 2021 - Abraham Lincoln's Birthday 
Chinese New Year Begins 
School Closed - Professional Development Day

4TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
Students will be begin to wrap up Chapter 6 this week. Chapter 6 Vocabulary Exam will be held on Monday, so please be prepared! Students should refer to the textbook, as well as the Power point for more info on the vocabulary from the chapter. Wednesday, we will be taking the Chapter Exam. Students will have time on Tuesday to finalize study guide. We will also begin to cover Black History Month projects.

5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
We are continuing to cover Chapter 6 this week. Chapter 6 is covering the middle colonies of the U.S. We will be watching a video about life in the middle colonies on YouTube. Students will have to write down notes during the video as it will give plenty of information relating to the Chapter. We will also be discussing Black History Month projects this week. Students will choose an inspiring figure from Black history and discuss their lives on a one page report. Power Point slides will be used to further discuss the project.

5TH GRADE S.S. HOMEWORK
Chapter 6 Vocabulary due Tuesday Feb 8
Lesson 2 Review Questions Due Wednesday Feb 9
