4TH & 5TH Grade Social Studies Week of June 7, 2021



WEEKLY REMINDERS

Monday June 7 is Confirmation Mass. School students will be going to mass at 10 AM.

Wednesday June 9, students in grades 4-8 will be taking NYS Science Test.

Friday June 11 is early dismissal for school students. Dismissal at 12 PM.


4TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES

Students will continue to review Chapter 10 this week. We will be continuing to cover World War ll, and finish reviewing the chapter by studying the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept 11. Last week we began discussing the reasons for the cause of World War 1 and 2 by viewing a documentary about World War ll. We will continue to watch some of the video this week. We will finish lesson 3 on Wednesday and the vocabulary quiz will be given on Thursday.

Students worried about their grades or just want to improve should see me during the week to discuss what can be done to improve. I will be giving extra credit to those who ASK!!

4TH GRADE SS HOMEWORK

5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES

We will begin to wrap up Chapter 8. Powerpoint slides and review sheets will be given this week to prepare for the exam. Vocabulary Quiz will be given on Thursday, and the chapter exam on Friday. Last week, I assigned extra credit for the class. Extra Credit will be part of your Test grade, so it will help a great deal if you do well. Please make sure to follow directions given on the assignment to receive full credit. The extra credit will reflect what we have been learning throughout the year as well as techniques given to you in order to answer questions correctly.

As always, if there are any questions on what we will be covering in class please look towards the plan book.

3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th grade Social Studies, Coding & Physical Education Week of April 24, 2023

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday.
