3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding & Physical Education Week of February 13, 2023

 

    


WEEKLY REMINDERS
  • Tuesday February 14 is Valentine's Day. Students will be allowed to dress up in the theme of the day.
  • 3rd Grade students will be having a small party Tuesday afternoon following lunch. I will be collecting $5 dollars for pizza.
  • Students can bring in candy or treats to give to their friends if they would like.
  • Wednesday February 15 SCHOOL IS CLOSED! Due to professional development and repairs being made to the school boiler.
  • Thursday February 16 is the 100th day of school. To celebrate the 8th grade students will be holding celebrations in the cafeteria.
  • Students may dress up for the day.
  • Friday February 17 SCHOOL IS CLOSED! Presidents day weekend.


5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
  • Students will wrap up Chapter 3 this week. Students will begin reviewing for the chapter test on Monday.
  • Study guide homework will be given on Monday. It will be due on Tuesday.
  • Chapter Exam will be given on Tuesday.
  • Students should be reviewing PowerPoint and study guide to study for the Chapter exam.


COMPUTER SCIENCE (CODING)

  • Students will continue working on building conditionals and variables within their programs.
  • Sphero Robots will be used to create coded programs based on Valentine's Day theme.
  • Mr.T will be here this week to give CodeSpeak classes on Thursday.
  • Students will continue working with Mr. T learning about HTML and JavaScript.


PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GYM)

  • Gym classes are to be TBA this week.

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday.
