5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES, CODING, & GYM WEEK OF NOVEMBER 22, 2021


WEEKLY REMINDERS

  • SCHOOL CLOSED - THURSDAY & FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25-26 - THANKSGIVING DAY BREAK
  • WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24 - THANKSGIVING SCHOOL MASS 9AM
  • 4TH GRADE HOMEROOM WILL BE HAVING A THANKSGIVING DAY PARTY IN OUR CLASSROOM! STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BRING FOOD AND TREATS FOR THE CLASS. STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO BRING $5 FOR PIZZA BY WEDNESDAY MORNING

5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
  • Students will begin to read chapter 2 from our textbook this week. The chapter will discuss early American civilizations and different Native American cultures. Students will also be continuing to work on their Maps of The United States. A reminder that this Map is part of a project grade. Please make sure to take care of the map as we will be using it for several weeks.
  • As always, homework will be assigned through google classroom. The only homework given in notebooks will be the chapter vocabulary. 
  • Lessons 2-3 will be given for homework during the break.

Digital Technology (Coding)
  • We will not have CodeSpeak this week because of Thanksgiving. Students should continue to work on Code.org and continue lessons assigned to them. 
  • During Wednesday's class we will review lessons 8-9, which refer to events and sequencing.

Physical Education (Gym)
  • There will be no gym classes this week because of Thanksgiving. Please continue to do our weekly routine of squats, jumping jacks, and burpees to work off the Thanksgiving Day feasts!

3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th grade Social Studies, Coding & Physical Education Week of April 24, 2023

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. 5TH Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of April 25, 2022

WEEKLY REMINDERS SCHOOL RESUMES MONDAY, APRIL 25TH 2022 Students in grades 3-8th will be taking the NYS MATH Exam on Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday April 27th is Secretary's Day. Make sure to thank Alba for all her hard work in the office! 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES We will be reviewing and wrapping up Chapter 4. We will spend Monday reviewing the take home chapter test given to everyone before the break. Wednesday April 27, we will begin to review Unit 2 from our textbook. Unit 2 consists of material from Chapters 3 and 4. The unit test will be given next week. After the Unit test we will begin the following Unit, which focuses on the 13 colonies. The flag below represents the original flag before the 50 states. No Homework will be given this week due to state testing. DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY (CODING) There will be no coding classes with Mr. Kevin this week due to state testing. Coding classes will resume next week.
