5TH Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of January 17, 2022


WEEKLY REMINDERS
  • Monday January 17, SCHOOL CLOSED for MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY
  • Tuesday January 18 is WINNIE THE POOH DAY, students may come dressed up like Winnie The Pooh
  • Wednesday January 19, NWEA MAP LANGUAGE ARTS EXAM.
  • Thursday and Friday January 20 - 21, MAP MAKE UP DAYS, students that missed any MAP tests will be given time to make up those exams.

5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
  • After reviewing Chapter 2 exams, I have decided to give another exam to help make up for this past exam. Friday, January 21, students will be given a Unit exam covering Chapters 1 - 2. Students were given specific instructions on what to study last week and we will begin reviewing on Tuesday.
  • Practice Exam will be given on Tuesday for students to take home on Google Classroom.
  • Students will also be working on US MAP Projects as the first part of the project is coming to an end. More specific instructions about the Map Project will be given on Google Classroom.
  • We will begin covering Chapter 3 next week.

Digital Technology (Coding)
  • 3rd - 5th grades will continue working on their game where they doge a bad sprite while they chase a goal. The players score or health, through a variable, changes based on what they manage to collect.
  • 6th - 8th grade students will continue to create an app that will have stamp interaction with each other and implement lists/arrays to the moving enemies.

Physical Education (Gym)
  • Gym classes will be held as regularly scheduled this week. Students are reminded to please wear proper gym attire on Friday.
  • Students will continue to work on plyo-metric movements through the an obstacle course.

3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th grade Social Studies, Coding & Physical Education Week of April 24, 2023

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday.
