5TH Grade Social Studies, Gym, & Coding Week of February 28, 2022
WEEKLY REMINDERS
- Monday, February 28 students are to be in FULL DRESS UNIFORM as we will all come together at mass for the death of Mrs. Fundora's husband. The school shall attend Mass at 11am
- Wednesday, March 2nd is Ash Wednesday. students will gather for mass at 10:30 am. It is also Dr. Seuss Day! Students may dress up with a Dr Seuss theme outfit.
- Friday, March 4th is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 12 pm Noon. Stations of the Cross will begin at 11:30 am.
- Students will continue to work on Black History Month Projects this week. We will continue to gather information and build our in house project of Martin Luther King Jr.
- Students should continue to work on their project slideshow as projects will be presented March 7th.
- We will continue to review Chapter 3 on Friday to prepare for the Chapter exam on Wednesday March 9th.
- No homework will be given this week as students will continue to work on projects.
- Students will continue to work on Lessons on Code.org.
- 3rd - 5th graders will continue to work on the Fashion Game. Students developed a fashion game where different keys made different outfits appear and clicking on the outfit changes the color.Will dive more into learning about the 'random' blocks and the 'broadcasting' messages to send to other code.
- 6th - 8th graders will continue with Dig Doug. Students learned to rotate characters and programmed an app where an ant digs through sand and dodges pebbles the user drops.
Physical Education (Gym)
- Friday, March 4th is an Early Dismissal Day. Students will have combined classes with other grades. Students are reminded that behavior is a major part of your grade. Some students are very surprised at their grades and continue with the same pattern, let's do our best to grow and learn!
- Students are reminded to come prepared and to wear gym uniform on Friday.
