3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of October 24, 2022

 


WEEKLY REMINDERS

  • Class picture day is on Monday October 24. Students are reminded to wear full uniform on Monday.
  • Candy Bar fundraiser has begun. Students will be sent home with paper with more information. Candy boxes can be picked up in the main office.
  • Halloween is next week. The school will be having a parade and festivities on Monday October 31. Students are welcomed to dress up in their favorite costume.
  • Students will also be having in class parties. Please feel free to bring in candy, treats, or any other food or desserts for kids to share and enjoy.
  • I will be collecting $5 dollars from homeroom students for pizza. 

5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
  • Students will continue to read Chapter 1. We intend to finish lessons 3-4 this week.
  • Chapter 1 PowerPoint will posted on google classroom this week.
  • Homework will be given on Monday. 

COMPUTER SCIENCE (CODING & ROBOTICS)
  • Students will be working on creating Sprites, making events happen, and looping this week in Coding.
  • Students will also be using more movement features as well as Lights, and matrix animations on Sphero.
  • Students in 3rd Grade will be working on Birthday Cards with Mr. T
  • Students in 4th and 5th will be creating a cartoon animation with Mr. T.
  • Students in 6- 8th will be programing a musical submarine and a virtual piano using Javascript sound and sing functions that execute when stamps are clicked.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GYM)
  • Students have begun using different exercise equipment to explore more advanced ways to burn calories. Students are incorporating kettlebells, resistance bands, weighted vests, and slam balls into their regular plyometric workout routines.
  • Students are reminded that although we go through a variety of strenuous work, all I ask is that you try to do your best to finish the workout.
  • Students are also reminded that PARTICIPATION is a vital part of your grade in class. Those of us who do not like to participate during class activities will not receive a passing grade for the day.
  • As always, please remember to wear full gym uniform on FRIDAY.

3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th grade Social Studies, Coding & Physical Education Week of April 24, 2023

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday.
