3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of November 14, 2022



WEEKLY REMINDERS
  • Report Card meetings are this WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16. Please make sure to sign up for either in person or zoom meetings. 
  • In person meetings will be held from 1pm to 3pm, while Zoom meetings will be held from 3pm-6pm.
  • Dismissal for students on Wednesday will be at 12 NOON. There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL.

  • FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18 is MICKEY & MINNIE MOUSE Day. Students are welcomed to dress up as their favorite character and join in on the contest. Class contests will be held in the auditorium and parents are welcomed to come and join.



5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES

  • Students will begin to review Chapter 2 from their textbook.
  • We will begin discussing in class Lessons 1-2 this week in class.
  • Two homework assignments will be given this week. Please make sure to log into Google Classroom for more information.



Computer Science (Coding & Robotics)
  • Students will continue to work on Unit 2 in our Computer Science classes. As we begin to wrap up the Unit 2 lessons, we will work on an in house project towards the end of the month.
  • Students will continue to apply what they learned from the unit on the Sphero Robots.
  • Students will continue to work on Sphero Robots trying to apply the lights and sounds and make a story come to life.
  • 3rd grade will continue to work on their Time Traveler projects with Mr. T
  • 4th & 5th Grades will continue to work on Creating a Story using animation.
  • 6th graders will continue to work on Starfish Disco/Mars Needs Milk: Students programmed an app where they spawn characters by tapping a virtual tablet screen, and change the character's size based on location to create an illusion of depth.
  • 7th and 8th graders will continue to work on their HTML Poster: Students created a poster using margin and padding, which are used to make a website easy to read and visually appealing.



Physical Education (Gym)
  • Students are continuing to learn about how to use different equipment while exercising.
  • Students have been going through a rigorous training program using kettlebells, resistance bands, weight vests, and weighted slam balls.
  • Gym will still be held on Friday November 18. Students with Mickey or Minnie Mouse attire should come to school with gym attire.
