3rd Grade Homeroom, 5th Grade Social Studies, Coding, & Physical Education Week of January 3, 2023

 


WEEKLY REMINDERS

  • School resumes Tuesday January 3rd 2023. All students are to return to school in full uniform.
  • Mid-term exams begin next week. Students are to make sure to ask teachers for extra help if needed before they take the exam.
  • Friday January 6 the school will have Mass at 10 am for the Feast of the Epiphany. Parents are welcomed.



5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
  • Students will continue to review Unit 1 from our textbooks. Students will prepare to wrap up Unit 1 and take the Unit exam on Wednesday.
  • Students will also begin to be introduced to Unit 2. Unit 2 consists of when Europeans began to explore the North American continent.
  • No homework will be given this week. Please use the time to study for the Unit exam.

COMPUTER SCIENCE (CODING)
  • Students will move on to Unit 3 on our coding curriculum. Students will learn how to use nested loops and how to read conditionals.
  • Students will also continue to work with Mr. T on CodeSpeak. Students will begin new projects using basic code languages such as HTML, C++, and JavaScript.


PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GYM)
  • Students will have gym class on Friday. Schedule will be condensed to fit all classes during the day. We will still have Mass at 10 am. 
  • Students should come to school with gym uniform on Friday.

  WEEKLY REMINDERS START OF THE 4TH QUARTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR WORK AND FINISH THE YEAR STRONG! WEDNESDAY APRIL 26 is SECRETARY'S DAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO THANK OUR SECRETARY ALBA FOR ALL HER HARD WORK! ALL CLASSES ARE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin wrapping up Unit 2 from our textbooks. We will review the idea of different cultures meeting and how cultural differences and competition for land led to conflicts among different groups of people in the Americas. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the last two chapters, which will prepare us for the Unit 2 exam on Wednesday. We will then begin to examine Chapter 5: The 13 colonies. We have started to discuss how the first 13 colonies were made and who established these colonies. Two homework assignements will be given this week. Gym & 5th Grade Social Studies

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well while we continue to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. As we continue to live life, lots of changes we will have to work through. As you have heard from our principal, students will continue to have classes remotely on Google Classroom. We understand that there will have to be some adjustments made in order for students to receive their work as well as feedback from teachers. Please bare with us as we continue to provide an education for your child as best as we can. Blogs will be updated daily with materials, as well as homework for students to check on Google Classroom. For the time being, remote classes shall generally follow typical school schedules. 5th Grade Social Studies class will be held Monday-Friday at 11:15 am to 12:00pm. Students should log in to Google Classroom at the start of class everyday.
