WEEKLY REMINDERS This is the last week of school before Christmas break! Students are reminded to bring in bags to empty out their desks to prepare for the break. Christmas break begins Wednesday December 21 at 3 pm. Students are to return to school January 3, 2 023. Tuesday December 20 is Ugly Christmas Sweater day. Students may dress up with their ugliest Christmas sweaters. We will be having an in-class contest to see who has the ugliest sweater. Wednesday December 21 is our Lessons & Carols mass at 10 AM. Parents are welcomed to join us in church. Students should  be dressed up in Christmas themed clothing for that day. We will be having a class party on Wednesday. I will be collecting $5 dollars from students to buy pizza. Everything else will be provided. There is NO AFTER SCHOOL AND TITLE 1 PROGRAMS ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 21.   WEEKLY REMINDERS Holiday Celebrations begin this week with the Pre K class on Tuesday. Students in Grade 3 will be presenting during Lessons & Carols next week, Dec 21. We will be having a classroom party next Wednesday, Dec 21 after Lessons & Carols. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin to wrap up Chapter 2 this week. Students will be given a number of assignments this week in order to prepare for the Chapter Exam. All material will be posted on Google Classroom. Chapter Exam will be given on Wednesday, Dec 14. COMPUTER SCIENCE (CODING) Students will continue wrapping up Unit 2 on Code.org, which has students learning about sprites, events, and loops. Students will continue to apply these methods of code by using Sphero the robot in class. Students will also continue working on their last projects for the year with Mr. T on Code Speak.   WEEKLY REMINDERS EARLY DISMISSAL on FRIDAY DECEMBER 2nd. School children will dismiss at 12 NOON 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will continue working on Chapter 2 from our textbooks. This week in class we will review Lessons 2-4. Students will be working on various skills in class this week which include vocabulary comprehension and critical thinking skills. Two homework assignments will be given on Tuesday. Please look towards google classroom for more information. Computer Science (Coding & Robotics) Students will be wrapping up Unit 2 this week on Code.org Students will begin applying what they have learned from Unit 2 to create events and loops for the Sphero robots. Students will be learning how adding an event to a program can affect the code on a robot. Loops will help students code faster and optimize their code within Sphero robots.   WEEKLY REMINDERS Can Food Drive will continue this week. Please remember to bring in Canned Food. The class with the most canned food with be presented with a pizza party! Thanksgiving Day Mass on Wednesday November 23 at 10 AM. Honors Assembly will go on after Mass. Parents are welcomed to join. NO TITLE 1 CLASSES ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 23. WEEKLY REMINDERS Report Card meetings are this WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16. Please make sure to sign up for either in person or zoom meetings.  In person meetings will be held from 1pm to 3pm, while Zoom meetings will be held from 3pm-6pm. Dismissal for students on Wednesday will be at 12 NOON. There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL. Sign up sheets will be posted below.   WEEKLY REMINDERS School is OPEN on ELECTION DAY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8th. Gym Classes will be held on Tuesday November 8th School is CLOSED THURSDAY for Professional Development Day, and FRIDAY for Veterans Day. Report Card Meetings will be held NEXT WEDNESDAY 1-6pm Mickey Mouse Day is Next Friday November 18th. Students are welcomed to dress up as Mickey or Minnie Mouse. 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will begin to wrap up Chapter 1 from our textbooks. Students will begin to review notes and work on notes pertaining to questions from Chapter 1. Students will be given an in-class vocabulary quiz on Wednesday, and will be given the Chapter test as a take home test on Monday.   WEEKLY REMINDERS Class picture day is on Monday October 24. Students are reminded to wear full uniform on Monday. Candy Bar fundraiser has begun. Students will be sent home with paper with more information. Candy boxes can be picked up in the main office. Halloween is next week. The school will be having a parade and festivities on Monday October 31. Students are welcomed to dress up in their favorite costume. Students will also be having in class parties. Please feel free to bring in candy, treats, or any other food or desserts for kids to share and enjoy. I will be collecting $5 dollars from homeroom students for pizza.  5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES Students will continue to read Chapter 1. We intend to finish lessons 3-4 this week.
